Landscape, perhaps, is a pop-up book, connecting people and events in different eras and weaving the destinies of individuals, communities and places together, that time as its thickness and multicultural background as its depth. Every page of this book tells us the when, where and who of a place, leading to a series of questions: How to describe what is in front of our eyes? Who has attempted to interpret and write about this landscape? About whom is/are this scenery trying to tell us? How many storylines are interweaving with each other here?
